About Us
Take Ur Seat
Our Story
For as long as we can remember, there has always been something special about hanging out at the kitchen counter with family and friends. The amazing aroma from the stove, the laughter, and the fun seemed to make the food taste even better. This has been our experience since we moved to America. There were times when life wasn’t easy, but we always had each other – and together is a beautiful place to be.
Our FamILY BRANDS
Just like every family member brings their own unique flavor to the table, each of our brands adds something special to the Take Ur Seat experience. From quick bites to artisanal coffee, we’ve created a family of brands that share our commitment to quality, community, and genuine hospitality.

The Obadjas

Michael and Mira
What’s good fam? We’re Michael and Mira Obadja, your hosts at Take Ur Seat. Life’s been an amazing ride since we tied the knot in 2006. Our two wonderful kids, Mika and Malakai, make our family – the M&M’s and the mini M&M’s.
We’ve had the privilege of serving our community at Abbalove Church since 2004 – sharing love, care, and friendship. Now to us, hospitality isn’t just an industry. For us, it’s a lifestyle steeped in love and sharing. We believe it’s a reflection of God’s own love, showing His idea of family to the world.
The dream of Take Ur Seat was birthed right at our kitchen counter, where countless friends, neighbors, and even strangers have pulled up a chair. We shared food, laughter, and stories. They walked in as guests but walked out as family.
This is what we want for you at Take Ur Seat – we want you to feel welcomed, loved, and at home. We’re eager to meet you, share our journey with you, and hear your story. So pull up a chair, let’s break bread together! We can’t wait to hang out with you and make memories together at Take Ur Seat.

THE Tarigans

Harry And Debora
Hello! I’m Herry Tarigan, and alongside my best friend and wife of 19 years, Deb, we’ve been blessed with five wonderful children. Our story spans continents and careers, beginning with internet cafes in Indonesia and evolving through various chapters in the United States since 2001 – from careers in medicine to ventures in industrial equipment and real estate.
But our true calling has always been about bringing people together. In 2015, this led us to plant a church, and by 2017, we had transitioned to full-time ministry. It was this perfect blend of entrepreneurial spirit and desire to serve that sparked the vision for Take Ur Seat in 2018. Together with the Obadja and Adidjaja families, we created more than just a restaurant – we built a place where comfort food and genuine hospitality create an atmosphere that feels like home.
You’ll find pieces of our heart throughout both our Chino Hills and Ontario locations, where we personally handcrafted 80% of the décor. But Take Ur Seat represents something even bigger than its physical spaces. It’s about empowering others to serve, creating businesses that transform communities, and fostering genuine connections. Every meal served and every story shared here is part of this greater purpose. We’re honored to have you join us on this journey of good food, meaningful relationships, and lasting impact.

Paul And Emma
Meet Chef Paul (“Aya” to those who know me well). Growing up as one of five siblings, I discovered early on that food has the power to bring people together and celebrate different tastes and traditions – a lesson I carry with me every day as I cook alongside my wife Emma and our daughter Aemelia.
My culinary journey began at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Pasadena, where I graduated in 2007. The following years took me through kitchens serving Italian, Chinese, and Indonesian cuisine, each adding new flavors and techniques to my repertoire. At Los Olivos in Cal Poly Pomona, I spent eight years crafting dishes from around the globe – from Asia to Europe, Latin America to the United States.
But it’s here at Take Ur Seat where everything comes together. Every dish I create draws from my diverse culinary background, but more importantly, it’s infused with the joy of bringing people together. Because at our tables, we’re not just serving meals – we’re creating memories that bring smiles to faces and warmth to hearts. I can’t wait to share these moments with you.
